At FoxFire Music Press, we believe that educational string literature should never compromise on artistic integrity or structural depth. Founded by composer and active public school music educator Noah Braun, our mission is to deliver meticulously crafted original works and inclusive historical arrangements that respect the technical limits of developing players while fully engaging their musical imaginations.
We are dedicated to reimagining the landscape of educational string publishing by ensuring absolute part equity in every score. By providing every musician, from the first-chair violin to the back-stand double bass, with a vital, expressive, and technically rewarding role, we empower directors to cultivate true community, technical excellence, and lifelong artistry right from the podium."

From the Classroom to the Page
Music isn't just something to be analyzed on a chalkboard; it is a living, breathing vehicle for community, storytelling, and human connection.
As an active public school music educator directing middle school orchestras in St. Cloud, Minnesota, Noah Braun collaborates daily with young musicians right where the music happens, in the classroom. He understands firsthand what makes a young string section lean in, what rhythms keep them engaged, and what melodies they will continue to hum down the hallways long after the rehearsal bell rings.
Braun holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Theory and Composition from St. Cloud State University and a Master of Music in Composition from the University of Colorado Boulder. After a successful leadership career in the hospitality industry, he returned to his true calling: public education and the cultivation of the next generation of music makers.
Through FoxFire Music Press, Braun synthesizes his academic background in composition with his practical classroom expertise. Because he writes with a deep commitment to high-quality craftsmanship, his pieces purposefully challenge every student in the room to grow as independent, expressive musicians.

If you venture deep into the quiet forests of Minnesota on a pitch-black night, you might stumble upon a rare and quiet miracle: a soft, beautiful green luminescence glowing from the forest floor. This natural phenomenon is called foxfire.
It is a hidden light that requires darkness to be seen, a quiet warmth generated from within the wood itself.
That is exactly why this press bears its name. As music educators, we do not impose light onto our students from the outside; rather, our job is to help them discover and cultivate the vibrant, expressive light that already exists inside them. Every piece published by FoxFire Music Press is dedicated to that process: bringing high-quality craftsmanship to the podium so that every young musician can find their voice, share their unique warmth, and beautifully shine.

A Quick Snapshot
When he's not on the podium, composing at his desk, or performing, you can usually find him exploring the great outdoors of Minnesota. Braun is an avid camper, hiker, birdwatcher, and agate collector who can frequently be found roaming the woods, waters, and wetlands of the Land of 10,000 Lakes.
